blank page on localhost website

  • Have installed xampp in 8080 port.
    I have downloaded the files to htdocs folder under xampp. Have created a database and change the wp-config file. When I type localhost:8080/websitename i get a blank page. If I try to open the wp-admin page, it redirects to localhost:8080/livewebsitename/wp-login.php. Iam new to this. Can someone help me get the local setup up and running please????

    Sorry, forgot to mention that I’m taking a copy of the livewebsite and database in the localhost.

    You need to change the Site URL in the database. Look for wp_options table to do so.

    The wp-options are changed.It works fine now. Thanks a ton. But when I try to search, it redirects me again to dashboard page. Is there some setting I need change in the setting?

    I am facing the same issue while trying to duplicate my live copy of the website on the localhost. I have changed the wp-options and still the https://localhost/testsite turns up as a blank page. Could you please let me know how you got the issue resolved?
