blank page only in root – fine in folder

  • WordPress installed and working great in folder “/gcb”
    Followed instructions on making WP the root – all admin etc continues to work but, index.php in root folder is completely blank (yes, completely)

    Currently running on windows IIS server.

    Tried full new install straight into root – blank page again. So, im back to in the /gcb folder again.

    Does ANYONE have any idea why the index.php page returns completely blank when its in the root but fine when it’s not? (I am aware of how to change the line of code when doing it this way, to point to the ./gcb/wp-……… – it doesn’t matter – blank page still)

    Im pulling my hair out. Any help much appreciated. thank you all who read.
