I have recently installed WordPress on our server and managed to get everything up and running.

However when I attempt to login via admin by adding the neccersary login details and press “login” I am taken to a blank white page instead of the admin home page.

At this point the address in the browser’s address bar is https://gargoyle.co.uk/blog/wp-login.php

I then found that the only way to actually login to my admin page is to type https://gargoyle.co.uk/blog into the address bar and then press “Site Admin” within the list of links on the right.

    This then logs me in.

Does anyone know of a reason why this may be happening?

    Thanks in advance
    David

OK I have figured it out!

I have FireFox on the Mac with the Web Developers toolbar installed.

This seems to be a problem as I have tried in Shitfari and it works fine.

    Is this an FF bug?

I’ve got the exact same problem but I only use IE, my sites were all fine, this problem has only just started to appear and only on one server, sites on other hosts are fine.

Same problem here. I remember having the same problem a couple of months ago with another wordpress installation, but after a while it just started to work suddenly.

    Very frustrating though.

Oh for christ sake, it still doesn’t work. I even tried whiping the database and reinstalling WordPress (again).

Is there no known solution to this problem?!

I had an issue when I logged in all of my CSS for the admin pages / dashboard would not display. It still happens from time to time, I have no idea why. I have to clear FF’s cache to fix it.

This is a problem with the CSS I think because I get a complete blank file. When using the option in firefox to view a page’s source code I get a blank file.
