Blank page with DONOTCACHEPAGE and HTTP HEAD

I have W3TC (0.9.4.1) configured with page cache (APC), but one page has DONOTCACHEPAGE defined. Lately I have noticed that the page that has not cache enabled started to show a blank page randomly.

I have narrowed the problem and it is due to HEAD request that cache a no content page. Similar issue was resolved for cached pages (https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/random-blank-pages-w3-total-cache?replies=103#post-4168756) and there is a patch with parameter pgcache.reject.request_head, but this parameter does not show in admin panel for APC cache, just for Disk Enhanced.

Changing manually pgcache.reject.request_head to true in w3tc-config/master.php issue gets resolved, but I am wondering if it has any side effects and if it should be addressed any other way to be resolved.
