I want to assign tags that I have imported (320 tags) to all my posts (about 1200 posts), so I am using “Assign Tags” button…
But after a while blank screen appears only showing a text “Automatic Post Tagger” but nothing more…
After checking it seems that plugin haven’t assign tags to all posts.
Any idea how to fix that? Thank You!

This is a known issue that should be fixed in the next version. After clicking the button, APT starts to assign tags but because of the low max. execution time on your server the script is stopped before tagging is finished.

You can try deleting all word separators and using the option “Replace non-alphanumeric characters with spaces” but it still may not help with so many tags and posts.

Thank You – Your suggestion about deleting word separators and ticking the “replace non-alphanumeric chars with spaces” helped with blank screen, but still not all posts are being processed – I can see that newest posts are not being tagged…
How about batch tagging in few steps – clicking “Assign tags” with only one part of all tags added, than another part, than another – what do You think?
Anyway I cannot wait until next release ?? Any ETA?

That’s exactly what I intend to implement.

I hope that the next version will be available in one or two weeks.

Glad to hear that! I performed few operations of tagging with max 50 tags per session and it worked fine ??

New version 1.4 has been released. You can try to re-tag your posts with an improved algorithm without any problems now.

    Hi !

    when you say

    “Replace non-alphanumeric characters with spaces”

does it mean that accents in french are not supported ?

Ity confuses me, as on the plugin wordpress homepage it is written :

“Workaround for Latin diacritic characters (non-Latin alphabets like Arabic or Chinese aren’t supported)”

    Thanks for the answer ??

Hello, french diacritic characters in posts and searched keywords like “é”, “ì”, “?” etc. should be converted to “e”, “i”, “c” and so on if the option “Convert Latin diacritic characters to their ASCII equivalents” is used. My script still can’t handle UTF8 characters, so this function is the mentioned workaround.

The option “Replace non-alphanumeric characters with spaces” basically does the same thing but all non-alphanumeric and non-ASCII characters are treated as spaces. It is faster but there is a possibility of finding “nonexistent” matches (if you post just regular posts without any code, there should not be any problem though).
