Blank screen follows ANY change on an admin page

  • I just upgraded (the proper way!) and everything seemed fine until I made the first change from an admin page — adding a sentence to a blog entry. When I hit Publish, the screen went blank. I hit refresh, and again nothing happened. I then went to https://hostname/blogname/wp-admin/ and could see the admin pages again. This happens with any change I make, such as activating or deactivating plugins, creating a new post, etc.

    I have deactivated all plugins and the problem persists. Any ideas?

  • I have this problem after an upgrade and applying a theme. White screen. I can’t open a fresh instance of wp-admin either. It’s all white. It’s like a Hanson concert and it’s freaking me out.

    Pheeeew I’m so happy I found you lot. I have the EXACT same problem as henigushi. All changes, posts, plugins got me a white page. Now, I can’t even log in to my blog again at https://www.blog.com/wp-admin it shows a completely blank page.

    And no I have no admin-plugin installed. Can anyone help? Please??

    The blog itself works though, it’s only the admin area. Not a new theme, nothing, just acting strange.

    I’m having frequent blank pages in admin also. But in my case, refreshing the page once or twice will always load the page normally. But this is definitely an issue with 2.7 as I never had this in any previous version.

    i’ve checked my php error logs and do not see any errors being generated. I’ve also double checked my php memory limit which is at 32M, should be plenty of memory. So I don’t know what else I can do. I’ve reinstalled 2.7 twice and the problem with blank pages persists. Very aggravating.

    So far, I’ve only gotten this after updating a plugin.

    I suspect that this might have something to do with an incompatible theme. I removed all themes from my themes folder (except for the default themes that come with 2.7) and the admin pages have reappeared.
