Okay, I am very much against wasting peoples’ time, so I checked intently to see if anyone else had posted about this, and couldn’t find it. Also, I tried all of the suggestions on the Login Trouble page, and they didn’t work. My site is here, which seems to be working just fine on the outside.

What’s happening is that I can load my login page just fine, but when I type my username and password, and submit, it takes me to a blank page. I had noticed that this happened the other day shortly after I posted a new post on my blog, and afterward I was trying to modify the theme, and when I tried to submit my changes, I was taken to a blank page for the first time. Now, I can’t log on at all. I already tried removing all of the plugins with FTP and that didn’t work. I’m really at a loss here, and the only thing I can think of to do is to wipe the darn blog clean and start over, but I don’t want to do that, so any help would be much appreciated.

    I think I’m running WordPress 2.7.1.
    PHP Version 4.4.7
Mozilla Firefox 3.0.13 (It didn’t work in IE either)
    MySQL – 5.0.45-log

  • Have you tried renaming your current theme’s folder? You mentioned that you recently modified your theme, so it might be an idea to eliminate your changes as a cause of the problem. Renaming your current theme’s folder will make activate the default theme.

No, I didn’t rename the theme folder. The only thing I did when I got my error was try to add an image to the left of my RSS button.

No – I meant try renaming your theme folder now. The idea is to force the default theme to activate in the hopes that this will allow you back into your site.

Okay, well that seemed to work, but I’m not sure why a problem with the theme would cause me to be unable to log into the site, but have no effect on the site itself. weird. Anyway, I was planning on installing a new theme anyway, so if I’m able to do that, I’ll close this thread.
