Blank screens and my site is gone

  • I’m new to WordPress and had everything going fine. Once I installed a couple of plugins my site went blank. I couldn’t access the admin and my url is blank.

    I read some different things in the support section and tried deleting the plugins, deleting the entire plugin folder, and then changing the themes folder name to see if it would default to another theme. But, none of this worked.

    I’m using yahoo hosting which provided the wordpress and I saw one suggestion to request Yahoo to post a previous version of the site online. I have requested that but I’m not sure if that will resolve this.

    I can see all my files on the server but everything is blank. Anyone have any idea what to do?

  • I have had the same problem, and it drove me crazy for more than two hours, after few researchs here is the fix..

    the 2.3.1 is fine but you must not use an old configuration file from older versions 2.2

    So get the wp-config.sample.php from the original 2.3.1 zip file, edit the information there… database and stuff. rename and upload wp-config.php.. and you are done.
