• My site is completely blank, but all of the files are there. It is just not displaying. I know I had two files were deleted under WP–content. I don’t know what they were but I know there were more files under that folder and now they’re missing and that is what is causing this problem.. They were not in a subfolder they were just some of the files that appear in the WP–content folder.

Any thoughts on how I could recover the files or what they could be so I can reinstall them? Or anything else they can do to get the site back?

  • Go to your dashboard and note down the WordPress version. Next download the install package, unpack it, and upload the wp-content directory to your server via FTP.

I have that version of WordPress saved on my computer and I compared all of the files and they are all there. I forgot to mention that when a look at all of my files in the directory they are all there, plug-in files, theme files etc. but when I log into the dashboard and I click on plug-ins or themes there is nothing there. If I try to redownload them through the dashboard it says that a folder with that name already exists.

But know that in the WP–contents file that used to be eight files and now there are only six. In trying to remember what the files were called and I think one started with the C and the other one started with WP – but I can’t be certain.

    Any other thoughts?
