Hi, when I go the the Yoast General – Features tab and go to the Sitemap part – when I click my sitemap link it is blank. It goes to https://www.mydomain.com/sitemap.xml and there is nothing written. But when I manually remove the “www” part and it becomes https://mydomain.com/sitemap.xml the sitemap loads complete as normal.

It says in Yoast “Enable the XML sitemaps that Yoast SEO generates” But I am afraid that its submitting the blank sitemap to the Search Engines since it is pointed to the blank one whenever I click on it.

Is there a way for Yoast to point to the sitemap that does not have the “www” part in the URL so it loads the right one?

I just started using SSL and the problems started after using SSL.

I did a bit more digging and when I visit the source code of the sitemaps both the www and non-www version are having exactly the same codes and content. It juts does not seem to load visually when I check the www version.

@jeffsilang89 The URL for the sitemap that is generated by the Yoast SEO plugin is located at sitemap_index.xml, and not sitemap.xml. Can you please try checking the sitemap for your site using sitemap_index.xml and seeing whether it is being generated as expected?

As for the HTTPS/WWW issue, whether a site uses http/https or www/non-www is not controlled in the Yoast SEO plugin. This is controlled in WordPress by the WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) values which are located in Settings>General. You would need to make sure that both of these are set to use HTTPS. If you are not seeing the sitemap automatically use HTTPS in the URL after confirming these settings we would recommend checking with your host for more information on how to force all requests to the site to use HTTPS, as this can sometimes vary depending on the server configuration and hosting provider.
