Blank user — “Your attempt to edit this user has failed”

  • When I edit a user, all the changes get saved properly but I receive the following error:

    Your attempt to edit this user: "" has failed.

    It appears that WordPress has lost the user name after saving but before reloading the page.

    One piece of background information: I restored a WordPress database backup from PhpMyAdmin, and I changed the database prefix (with find-and-replace in a text editor). I do not know if it worked before I restored the database or not.

  • I ran into the same problem today. So I guess it’s still an issue.

    And I didn’t do anything funky with the database before running into this issue. I have activated and deactivated a few plugins, however. I’m going to continue messing with them to see if I can isolate the problem.

    Other installations I’ve done of version 2.7.1 do not have this issue.
