• My website address is: https://www.deevranorling.com

Everything was working just fine. I made no changes to any settings. All of a sudden my static web pages are not displaying. They are blank with only the heading. My blog posts are fine.

I am also receiving a 500 Internal Server Error which I have notified the web hosting server about (which is Go Daddy).

I find it frustrating that WordPress does not have email support or techinicians to assist because reading through the support forums are confusing. I am clueless when it comes to technical stuff. I have no idea how to fix this.

Go Daddy thinks its a problem with permalinks. I’ve changed permalinks settings, saved it and changed back to previous settings – does not work.

I read about .htpaccess and php that people write about here and don’t know what they are talking about!

WordPress is free software and this free, volunteer-staffed forum is the only support resource available via www.ads-software.com. If that does not suit your needs, perhaps you need to consider hiring someone?

I’m confused. If you know so much, why do you need our help? I assume you have already checked your site’s error logs for relevant error messages, yes?

Hi Esmi – thank you for clarifying the support system.

Perhaps you have misunderstood, I said that I have read about .htpaccess and php, but don’t know what it is about. Therefore, I don’t know why you are saying “If you know so much, why do you need our help?” I don’t know anything about it or have the slightest idea what the problem is or how to go about fixing it.

No I haven’t checked the site’s error logs – where would I find that?

I sense a slightly annoyed tone in your response. If I offended you in any way in my query, I do apologize.

I am trying to sort this out myself as I can’t afford to hire someone.

    I hope you can help.
    Thanks.

Your hosts should be able to help you in accessing your site’s error logs.

I thought I’d update this query as I found out what the problem was. Someone told me to try this and it worked!

It was a plugin problem. I deactivated all the plugins. And all my web pages were back as normal! Then I reactivated the plugins one by one until I found the culprit – the WordPress SEO plugin.

I find this a very useful plugin – is there another version of it I can download that won’t give problems?

As for the 500 Internal Server Error – the web host dealt with that one.

    Thank you.

There are quite a few SEO plugins, so you can try others if that one seems to be problematic.
