blank white page after update to 6.1.1

  • After updating WordPress, i cannot edit the pages anymore it is White blank.I reinstalled,,tryed a new Theme, same problem. again reinstalled no plugins, again a blank page. removed the cookies etc etc . Also trying different browsers, chrome safari, microsoft edge. but nothing helped. now i put a couple of lines in wordpress config, so that the update stopped, and without the update evrything is working oke , but that is not a real solutiuon, can anybody help me?

  • what did you add to the config file?

    what version of php are you running?

    Can you check if you have any errors?

    HI,

    I add nothing to the config file, it was a clean install from version 5.93 this one is working fine, then after the update to 6.1.1 editing is not possible anymore. just a blank screen when editing a page
    the version php is 7.4

    if you are using a block theme make sure it has a theme.json file. Even though it not a required file, newer versions of wordpress hang when the theme doesn’t have it. Just add {} in the file.

    where do i find this file? and if missing in witch directory i can put that.

    and is het theme.js or theme.json, because theme.js is under the wp-admin/ js directory

    in your OP you said you added code to the config file. No worries.

    Is the white screen only happening when you try and edit a page but the site is loading fine for visitors? Can you share your url?

    Yes only when editing a page. the site is fine for visitors, but i can not edit it anymore after the update.

    I only see a couple of errors where your favicon files are not being found. Are all plugins and your theme updated to the latest versions?

    Do you have a backup, or can you contact your host to revert to a recent backup?

    Thank you for the response.
    I think i found the problem. i erased all the browser history.
    and now i can edit it again. the same with edge, erased first the history, and that is also working.
    I hope this will helping also others that experience the same problem.
