Very nice looking site. There are only a few things that I might suggest. You might want to increase the size of your header a little. You might be able to do this by making the logo bigger (if possible). It just seems very small (but on the flip side you don’t want it too big either).

Also, you might want to consider restricting the comments section on the About page and perhaps adding a Contact Me page. You can either put your e-mail address or put a contact form on the page, or both if you like.

Lastly, I would change your favicon image to something that corresponds to your site.

Your site looks good. Good luck!!

@sammysimms, thanks I’ll try to get on that immediately. Those are all great suggestions! Thank you for your input, and I hope you come back to check it all out again soon!

Anybody else have any other suggestions?

    Anything?

Really nice blog, I like it.

I’m not raking up views though. I’ve got it all optimized with SEO and such, but if anything my ratings have gone down. What do you suggest?

Yeah, it does look really nice, I like it! The only idea I really have is to increase the line spacing… it’s a little tight!

No tips on SEO, unfortunately. Just keep working on spreading your links. My sites do… miserably too, sometimes.

@kuyler, thanks for the suggestion, I’ll get on that a little bit. I definitely can see how it may be hard to read. What exactly do you mean by spreading my links…just linking to other pages of similar content?

I usually trying to build links with other sites with similar content so that Google will find more paths to you, increasing your overall pagerank.

I’ve been playing with https://blogglue.com and they seem to be providing me with some good traffic.

Google doesn’t care much for blog sites and links. It doesn’t increase your pagerank all that much. They changed the algorithm a number of years ago such that linkbacks on blog or forum-type sites mean very little. Why should it help your site if you were the one who posted it?

Organic links are better. A real person linking to your site can’t be faked. 360 links also mean very little (you link to them, they link to you). That tells Google that you had to trade links instead of it being organic. You may get some clicks from blogs or forums though but it won’t help your search engine ranking.

@kuyler, thanks for the input, still trying to figure out how to change line spacing. I’ll get around to it eventually.

@sulfericacid, so I should link out to other websites and blogs, and hopefully they’ll notice and link back to me? What do you recommend?

Thanks for the input, still looking for other ways to boost traffic.

Updated the layout to fix the line-spacing, and in general to have more control over the theme, colors, header, and other aspects which I did not have direct control over before. I think it’s more conducive to clicking around the site and easier to navigate, hopefully my posts will be read more frequently, and I can start discussions with readers.

    Suggestions?

Took me a couple minutes to get used to, but I like it a lot!

Thank you, I had another person say that the light was too bright for them. I responded “Didn’t your parents tell you to never look into the Sun directly?”

    Truth hurts.

I like it a lot, the content’s really cool too. I write some semi-similar stuff sometimes, so look for a pingback from me (https://meanwhileinwv.com)

Well you asked for an opinon and i’m gonna give you an honest one and i’m not gonna sugar coat it either:

    1. Justify your texts. Nothing is more unprofessional to me than unjustified text.

I don’t like the theme.I love dark themes but this just doesn’t go. Your navigation menu is frustrating. People shouldn’t have to guess what an icon is for before they click it. An icon of a little guy can mean anything, from public bathroom to barber shop.

Get rid of your donation button. It’s an oxymoron to put a donation button next to ads. It only tells people you are begging for money. And if you are, you should say why you are asking for money? what services do you offer? Do you have cancer? Are you homeless? Do you offer public service?

The same for the Google ads. They discredit you more than getting you paid.

On your about page, crop the picture more closely. You are trying to show your face and your dog not the tree.

On your main page, you have a picture with a [very] pretty girl titled : “my inspiration”. Why is she your inspiration? Is she a philosopher? Nobel prize winner? Your sister? Either get rid out it because it’s irrelevant to the message of your site or write an explanation for it.

Your header image is not telling me anything. use something that’s more relevant.

Here’s an article i wrote on Webdesign and content relevancy that you might find it interesting. (The site is still under construction so ignore lorem ipsums)

    Cheers,

    Chris
