• BAD experience.

I’m not a pro but not a novice either. Installed the plugin and tried configuring SMTP but ran into a ton of problems. Got 504 errors, EXTREME site slowdown, etc.

Okay, finally fixed those problems and tried again. NOPE!

Not worth the complexity, time, effort. And when deleting, left several database tables still intact – had to delete those manually.

    Hi @tasmaniandevil,

I’m very sorry that you had such a bad experience with our plugin.

I can assure you that’s not an expected experience and I think there was something else going on, causing issues.

We would like to help you out with debugging what was causing those issues for you.

You said “you fixed those problems”, what exactly did you do to fix them? What were the problems causing the errors and slowdowns?

For complete cleanup after plugin uninstall you would need to enable the “Uninstall WP Mail SMTP” setting in our “Misc” settings page. Did you enable that option?

The only DB tables that are left with that option enabled are the action scheduler tables. Those can be used by other plugins since it’s bundled with many other plugins. That’s why we can’t delete them because other plugins might be relying on them.

If you can please share more details with your issues that would be great! This way we can investigate and improve our plugin.

Thank you and have a nice day!
