• I am so glad to have found this forum.
I too have been writing a blog for 6 years and I publish every Saturday at 8 am.
Last Saturday I logged in at 6:30 am, ready to write, and found WP asking me to upgrade to the latest version.
Which like a good boy I did.
And found myself with a blank page, all edits gone, editor mode no longer easily available, No Add Media, no shortcut, no no no….
I thought I must have done something dreadful and posted in a forum and just today learned there is a plug-in Classic Editor.
I installed this and bingo – life was returned.
I do not have the time or knowledge to learn a whole new system.

  • You gave it 5 stars ??

5 stars is the default rating. Looking through there are many reviews which are negative but they forgot to change the star rating.

    Lucky for WP I guess

@ajoliver47 you need to revise your star rating or remove your post and repost – you are giving incongruent feedback to WordPress

Please explain – I do not understand your comment. What start rating are you referring to?

@ajoliver47 Give this piece of shit 1 star, your current comment has 5 stars, which means you are happy with it.

@ Please explain – I do not understand your comment. What start rating are you referring to?

The five stars you had failed to notice when you did your initial review, and have also since failed to see despite numerous comments pointing out the discrepancy.

You should edit the review and change the rating to 1 to reflect how you feel about the plugin, as clearly, you dislike it.

Check under the title of your review, and you will see the stars all lit up…

My rating referred to the service of the person who helped me get rid of Gutenberg.

I see that the rating referred to Gutenberg itself so I have changed it to 1 star – only because there is no zero star option.

I’m sorry to hear you’ve had a bad experience with Gutenberg, but glad to hear you’re enjoying the Classic Editor!

One of the things that we saw coming up in our user research was that people felt they didn’t have the time or energy to learn a new system, unless they had a compelling reason to do so. That’s something we’re still figuring out.

    So! Two follow-up questions here:
    1. Have you tried the editor at all since writing this review? (A great deal has been improved in the last six months!)
    2. What would make the new editor offer compelling enough such that you’d be willing to invest some time into learning how to use it?

    Thanks for your feedback!
