• These should all be separate plugins without installing Jetpack. The only thing worth having is the simple contact form, and the mobile theme but you don’t need the mobile theme if you have a responsive theme.

After removing all jetpack my site load speed went up x2!

The function for adding a custom logo does not seem to be removed from my wordpress. Makes me wonder what else has not been removed when I uninstalled this Jetpack ??

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

    Thanks for the feedback!

These should all be separate plugins without installing Jetpack.

One of my colleagues tried to explain why Jetpack is built the way it is in this post:
Why Jetpack isn’t a Collection of Plugins, Part the First. Hopefully it will help you understand why Jetpack isn’t split into several plugins.

That seems like an issue. Do you remember what modules you used on your site? If you’re willing to run some more tests, it would be interesting to see if the speed issue was caused by a specific module on your site.

The Customizer sometimes caches things quite aggressively. That might be why you still see the option when the code doesn’t even exist on your site anymore. If it doesn’t disappear after a while, I’d suggest switching to another theme for a few minutes, to make sure the Custom Logo feature is not added by your theme.

    I hope this helps.

I really don’t know what was going on with the custom logo function. I had an if statement in the theme header that basically said if function exist then insert logo, else insert site name. Ok, but since jetpack was disabled, deleted, and folder deleted, function should not exist, but it still showed a broken image instead of site name.

Maybe I will reinstall jetpack when I get time to test. I see it was updated just after I removed it.
