• This started out as a really great plugin that did what it was supposed to do, and you didn’t have to worry about it too much. It would seem the plugin has lost its way. There are many features that are simply outside of the scope of what this plugin should do. Installing a plugin to force HTTPS should not also bombard you with security features for your website. This plugin has become bloated, and is no longer “really simple”

For those of us who already have security solutions, the security features now built into Really Simple SSL are forcing us to abandon this plugin. This simply isn’t an SSL plugin anymore, it is a security plugin. Best to use WordFence, AIOWPS or any of the countless others out there that have been around for a long time without losing their way. Our new solution involves using wp-cli to fix mixed content by conducting search and replace, and htaccess rules to force https and hsts when necessary.

    Hi @keithvfs,

I’m sorry to hear you feel that way. We’ve made sure you can still use the plugin as just an SSL plugin, other features are opt-in, and won’t load if you don’t use them, due to the modular nature of the plugin.

If it’s the notices you don’t like: as you use wp-cli, you can easily install the plugin, activate SSL, then dismiss all notices, like this:

    wp plugin install really-simple-ssl
    wp rsssl activate_ssl
    wp rsssl update_option --dismiss_all_notices=true
