Bloated yoast_post_meta table – Keeps repopulating

Hi,

We would expect that if you disabled the internal linking tool, no new rows would be created. We would like some more information.

1. Can you confirm you are using WordPress 5.3.2? You can check by clicking on the W in the top left and selecting About. If you need to update, please check with your host provider.?Please know that if you are using an older version of WordPress Core you may experience unexpected behavior with Yoast.?This guide explains more:?https://yoast.com/why-we-dont-support-old-wordpress-versions/.

2. Can you confirm you are using the most recent Yoast SEO, v13.1? If you update, does the issue resolve?

3. Are all your non-Yoast plugins and themes also updated?

4. Can you confirm your server has all the right requirements? ?If you are not sure, speak to your host provider. This guide explains more:?https://kb.yoast.com/kb/plugin-requirements/.

Yes, that was my expectation as well, which is why I was shocked when the table kept populating itself.

1) Yes, we are on 5.3.2.
2) We are on 13.0 in our live environment today, but will be pushing 13.1 to our live environment later tonight. I can re-verify the same result after that is complete.
3) Yes, all other plugins/themes are updated.
4) Yes, passes all requirements. MariaDB 10.0.23, PHP Memory of 512mb, PHP version of 7.3.

Any other ideas of items I should check? Is there anything I can provide you that may help more?

Our developers indicate that you should use the filter listed here https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/pull/12751 to disable it.
