We have a client where we have been using your free version of this plugin for over a year. The client has been noticing on almost all past entries where they are using this block, it no longer expands for the front end user. When we go to edit the entry using this, we get this error: https://share.zight.com/qGub2XYv

It is only when we recover and resave each entry will the accordions work on the front end.

Are you able to assist in a few things:

    1. Determine why these blocks are getting this error? ( I can provide an environment for you to review as needed)
    2. Is there a fix for this outside of recovering each block? Again, this client uses this block heavily and we’d rather not have to go through near 100+ entries to fix this.
    3. A future fix to where the blade will still expand and work for a front end user even if the block needs recovering?

    Hi, @gildner
Regarding the issue you mentioned, could you please clarify if the block is broken in the editor or on the front-end (output) when the normal admin accesses the site/post?

This information will help us further investigate and resolve the issue.
    Looking forward to your response.

For use the block is broken front and back.

    @gildner , @jillyk
Thank you for sharing the details of the issue. We have thoroughly tested this scenario on both local and live environments by creating multiple users with different roles. However, we were unable to reproduce the issue you described.
Is there any way we can collaborate to check the issue directly in your setup?

I think this issue is resolved, but maybe the original poster nauran81 (@nauran81) and also @gildner?&?@jillyk can confirm?

Hmm, I still got the error with this new version. I had to be really quick with clicking on the upper most “recovery button” or it would disappear. That was especially hard on a page with multiple group accordions. I needed to search (ctrl+F) for “recovery” and immediately click it.

This time there was also a small error on the front end (visitors side) of the website. All the accordion icons (for me a “+” sign on the left) also had a check-mark next to it. It disappeared after block recovery.

I’ll let you know if it happens again on the next update.

    Hi @jellet ,

Thank you for your feedback. Could you please let us know which version you upgraded from?

Additionally, in the next update, we will be adding a One-Click Recovery option, so please stay tuned for that.

@codersajjad, @spiderthemes247, and @jellet … this if from the client:

In some ways, it has gotten worse. The expansion problem doesn’t seem to be an issue any more, but the block recovery is still problematic. But now instead of the blocks at least hanging around on the edit screen in the supposedly corrupted state so that one could make a new group accordion and drag the block content from the old block to the new one (using the outline view), now when you edit a page oftentimes the entire accordion block resets itself and you are left copy and pasting from the published page to restore the content of those accordions.

@codersajjad,?@spiderthemes247 Probably from 4.8.0 to 4.8.1. Now all the blocks have been recovered. I’ll let you know if they become damaged again with the next update.

    Hello @nauran81 @jellet @jillyk @gildner @lukermiller @loganjudy @richardx ,

We’re pleased to inform you that version 4.8.2 has been released. Please update to the latest version and let us know if you need any further assistance.

@spiderthemes247 … so the latest version change says this in the changelog:

New: Added Custom Recovery Button On top toolbar that recovers all recovery block in a single click (If you see the attempt recovery notice, you’ll find a button on the top toolbar. Clicking it will dismiss all recovery notices instantly)

Is this really the fix to the issues we have outlined over the past couple months? Or only a band aid to help the recovery process — that really isn’t a fix to the accordions breaking on the frontend as well, IMHO.

    Hi @nauran81 ,

The new recovery process significantly improves the handling of recovery blocks, ensuring a smoother experience overall. If recovery is done from a recent version, there should be no risk of accordions breaking. However, recovering from much older versions may still present issues with accordion functionality on the frontend.

Since many users have multiple accordion blocks on a single page, the recovery button was designed to streamline the process by allowing recovery with a single click, eliminating the need to manually recover each block. This enhancement specifically helps users encountering the “Attempt Recovery” notice.

While this isn’t a full resolution for all older-version issues, it’s a step toward minimizing disruptions and improving overall usability. We appreciate your continued input and are working on further improvements.

I checked some of the accordions. I didn’t check all of them but so far I haven’t found any blocks damaged by the most recent update (4.8.1. to 4.8.2.).

The downside is that I’m not able to test the new recovery function, haha!

Maybe it’s a good idea to let this issue be “unresolved” for a few more updates and see if any problems occur (blocks breaking again, testing function of new recovery function).

    Hi @jellet ,

We want to assure you that the updates from version 4.8.0 to 4.8.2 are stable, and the accordion block should not break. Additionally, future updates will be designed to remain stable, ensuring that the “Attempt Recovery” notice will no longer appear.

However, users updating from a version earlier than 4.8.0 may still encounter issues with accordion blocks breaking. The migration process from versions 4.8.0 to 4.8.1 to 4.8.2 is stable, and all functionality is working as expected. If you’re updating from an older version and experiencing issues, we recommend manually recreating the affected blocks to ensure compatibility.
