• I have 50 quotes. The source of the quote should be stylized differently than the quote. I can do this easily in HTML. I’m trying to find how to do it in the block editor. Is it really not possible in the block editor?

To the right of the editor, I click Advanced: Additional class. I add the class name. It gets applied to the whole paragraph / block. I had the quote’s source selected, but it seems there’s no way to add a class to just the selected text. True?

Am I right to think this WordPress block editor is at least partially ridiculous?

What’s stopping you from using the semantically correct Quote block which has a separate Citation field that can be styled differently… and uses the appropriate <blockquote> with <cite> HTML markup instead of the super-generic <p> tag?
