Block Editor doesn’t save my preferences

  • Every time I clear my browser history or clear cache, the Block editor reverts back to the default setting.

    I make changes to the Preferences >> General / Appearances / Blocks / Panel

    They are not saved the next time when I log in.

    Any idea what might be the issue? Or how can it be resolved?

    After changing a preference, check your browser console for script errors. Seemingly unrelated errors can prevent preferences from being saved.

    Those preferences are saved in a cookie, so if you cleared your cookies the preferences will be reset to default.

    Does that mean I will have to avoid my website cookies being deleted every time I clear history/ cache?

    To preserve editor preferences, yes. If you commonly only use one type of browser, you could use an alternative type solely for editing WP posts so preferences can be preserved while you freely delete all cookies/history/cache in your primary browser.
