Block own tweets from appearing as comments

My own tweets appear as comments and I do not want that. Is there any way to define Twitter names to ignore?
I added my own Twitter name to the WordPress Comment Blacklist but I fear that that will mark myself as a spammer. So I would rather block the unwanted Twitter mentions at the plugin level. Is it possible?
