    HI,
I have just installed and copied the API but your plugin is being blocked by mailchimp. This is what they said…

It looks like our automated abuse prevention system is blocking MailChimp for WordPress’s IP address, as too many problematic calls have been made by them. So your next step is to reach out to them, and find out what steps they’re taking to get past that, such as changing their IP address, or improving their reputation.

    Any solutions?

    Hello,

Please note that this block is not for our plugin but the server on which your website is hosted. This is common with shared hosting where if one person abuses MailChimp’s resources then they block the IP address which affects all websites on that server. I would suggest changing your web host or asking them to move your website to another server.

Also, can you please go to the “MailChimp for WP > Others” page and share with us the errors listed there?

    Hello,

There have been no replies to this topic, so I’m marking this as resolved. Please do let us know if you’re still experiencing an issue.

Having the same issue. Mailchimp stated:

Thank you for providing those further details and that new reference number.

We took a look more specifically into that reference number and we’re seeing that what is causing that block is that there are some SQL injection attempts being made on that IP address.
Here is an article online that talks about this further:
    https://www.w3schools.com/sql/sql_injection.asp

One thing I wanted to let you know about this off the bat, the Mailchimp for WordPress plugin is created by a company called “ibericode” which is on that page you sent through, unfortunately since Mailchimp didn’t create that, our knowledge is a bit limited around that integration. It may be that the integration is what is making those SQL injection attempts or it could be another integration that is being used as well.

Unfortunately this is where our knowledge is limited since this is occurring outside of Mailchimp but what we recommend is that the hosting provider for the IP address may be able to monitor the IP activity to narrow down where that’s coming from and potentially looking into those integrations to see what may be doing those SQL injection attempts.

I hope that helps to move forward with some actionable steps, certainly if you have any questions or would like to discuss anything further, please feel free to reach out in this email and I’m happy to discuss.

    Hey @packofpaws,

In future, we would request you to create a new post instead of replying to a post created by another user. While issues may appear the same, the reasons are different.

The reason provided by MailChimp means that either your website or some other website hosted on the same server as yours had some suspicious activity due to which the IP address was blocked. The only way to resolve this would either move to another server or change your hosting.
