"Blocked due to abuse"

  • Hello,

    I am trying to login to https://www.communicanine.ca/wp-login.php to update contact information when I receive the following:

    “Blocked due to abuse. Please contact the server admins to authorize your IP address.”

    I have never received this warning before. Can anyone advise how I “authorize” my IP address so I can update content??

  • Best guess would be that your site (and probably others located on the same server) has been undergoing some brute force attempts on /wp-login.php The message is most likely due to an effort by your hosting service to mitigate the issue.

    Contact your host and verify that it’s something they have put in place, and then ask them what you need to do to get into your own site.

    After that, you should give serious consideration to updating your site. Your version of WordPress is not current.
