• I use Semrush to discover backend issues with my website to fix and one issue I’m eyeing to fix has to do with the AddThis plugin. At one point I used the plugin but switched over to another plugin but it appears to have left code on my site. The error message in particular reads: 9,977 issues with blocked external resources in robots.txt

The errors all point to this URL: https://s7.addthis.com/js/300/addthis_widget.js

The solution that Semrush suggests is: If blocked resources that are hosted on an external website have a strong impact on your website, contact the website owner and ask them to edit their robots.txt file. If blocked resources are not necessary for your site, simply ignore them.

So the rub is, I’m not entirely sure what that means. Would the code still be on my website and I have to remove it? Or is it somewhere else?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
