Blocking IP Addresses with wordfence

So I recently started using wordfence and when i try to block an ip address nothing is happening. I tried two ways from live traffic simply clicking block this ip icon next to the address. Also under blocked ips i tried manually blocking it. But when I try to check blocked ip addresses under blocked ips it shows nothing. Does this take a certain amount of time to block or am i not doing something i should be doing thanks for your help.
