• Now and again I get the odd user trying to register and then register again using a different email address, they do this to get persistent free trials to the site.

Is there someway I can safeguard against this, but not allowing the same IP to persistently register? I realize that they can change their IP, but i′lll have to live with that.

Just wanted to follow up – I can see quite a few spam protectors, but that′s not relevant in my case as this is generally a person using a valid email address, someone who can fill in captchas manually etc.

Anyone help with a solution to log IP addresses, or any other ideas?

I found a solution to log the IP of the user signing up, so at least I can manually check this and then deactivate them if I see an issue. Fine for the moment as there are not that many people signing up, but if it got busier, I′d like it to be automated as possible.

Isn′t there a plugin that deals with this? I′d really like to automate it, if possible.
