• On my home page, the H2 and button blocks have left and right margins that prevent them from sitting flush left. The same issue occurs with other certain blocks such as Column blocks (one example on this page among others throughout the site). The blocks are aligned left in the editor.

    From what I can determine, this seems to be due to the Astra theme’s inline CSS. This is a new issue and blocks did not behave in this manner in the past, so I am wondering if there is a way to correct it without additional CSS. I did not change anything in the theme file editor.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Hi @ypmanitoba,

    Is this happening only with Astra v3.8.0 or is it also happening with the previous version? And what if you temporarily change the theme to a default Twenty theme series? Is the same thing happening with the default theme?

    Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Kind regards,
    Herman ??

    Hi @bsfherman,

    The issue wasn’t happening in previous versions, but I can’t remember whether the issue started happening when I updated to the latest version. The issue goes away when switching to another theme like Twenty Twenty-Two.

    Thanks,
    @ypmanitoba

    Would you please share the steps to replicate this case, @ypmanitoba? I will try to reproduce it on my end.

    Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Herman ??

    I am having this same issue. It started yesterday when creating a new page.

    I believe it is related to the max-width here:

    ` .entry-content [class*=”__inner-container”] > *:not(.alignwide):not(p):not(.alignfull):not(.alignleft):not(.alignright):not(.is-style-wide):not(iframe) {
    max-width: 50rem;
    width: 100%;
    } ‘

    To add to my previous comment, At some point throughout the day I changed the Container Width (customizer – global – container) to 900 px, and a few minutes later changed it back to 1200 px. I believe the problem started after making those changes. Some elements seem to be ‘stuck’ at the 900 px width.

    Hi @bsfherman,

    I unfortunately don’t have much insight on how to replicate the case. The blocks were behaving normally, then one day, all of the theme settings reset to default (not sure how this happened). When I changed the theme settings back to what they originally were, the blocks started behaving with this new issue.

    I don’t believe I changed the Container Width when re-editing the theme settings like @jrav001 above.

    Thanks,
    @ypmanitoba

    I tried to replicate this on my dev site, however, all was fine I can tell. This is the video to show you what I did.

    What did I miss @ypmanitoba, @jrav001?

    Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Kind regards,
    Herman ??

    Hi @bsfherman,

    Thanks for attempting to take a crack at it. Could you check if your dev site has the same inline CSS as copy and pasted by @jrav001 above?

    Thanks,
    @ypmanitoba

    Please have a look at this video, @ypmanitoba. It looks different from your page.

    Maybe I missed something while replicating it? Would you mind doing a screen-captured video while replicating this?

    Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Kind regards,
    Herman ??

    I found a solution!

    Customizer – Global – Block Editor. The fields were empty so I changed it to 4, 0, 4, 0.

    On the problem pages, I put all the content into a Group block and now everything lines up as it should.

    Thanks for sharing @jrav001.

    Would you please try the same @ypmanitoba and see if it does the trick.

    Apart from that, I am pretty sure this is related to the Block Editor improvement we added to v3.8.0.

    Kind regards,
    Herman ??

    Thanks, @jrav001 – the site looks a lot better now!

    However, the issue I’m now having is the separator block is behaving inconsistently – example can be found on this page. Separators aligned centre are not appearing centred, and some paragraph blocks have a space above whereas some do not (such as the ones on that page). Any help would be much appreciated. @bsfherman

    Thanks,
    @ypmanitoba

    @ypmanitoba, it was also fine on my end when I tried to replicate it. Refer to this screenshot, please.

    Would you please create a video to show us how you did that page?

    Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Kind regards,
    Herman ??

    Hi, @bsfherman,

    Here is a video recording: https://share.getcloudapp.com/OAu89J86

    Thanks,
    @ypmanitoba

    @ypmanitoba, this is the video I captured to show you how I did it. All worked just fine. Please let me know if I missed any steps.

    Kind regards,
    Herman ??
