Trying to install a community plugin of some sort on my site I see something happen. For example BB Press on the forum topic page I get both Blocksy featured image on top of it – obviously blank forum topic having no featured image – and “Newsletter Updates” area under it.

Is there any way I can disable those extras there other than hide them, wich is not so good, via CSS?

Hello @ckubs, could you please share your website URL?

I don’t really have one. Actually this site is in the making.

But this is the issue. And after the page content that is the forum topic in this case I get also “Newsletter Updates” section. And it does’t happen with bbpress only. If I remember, with Asgaros too. And with Pick Plugins Question and Answer one. Every question has both the featured image and newsletter areas visible. And that inconvenience keeps me from using either Blocksy or one of the above solutions.

Inspecting a bbpress forum topic It has this body
    <body class="topic bbpress topic-template-default single single-topic postid-338 logged-in" data-link="type-2" data-forms="classic" itemscope="itemscope" itemtype="https://schema.org/Blog">

I could only guess those plugins are using “single” page template and Blocksy is forcing that pages to use featured image and newsletter areas.

Hey @ckubs, if I understand you correctly you want to disable the page title area from BB Press pages.

I’m not really sure how BB Press is adding those pages, but in case it creates a page like WooCommerce does, then simply go and edit that page, click on Blocksy Page Settings, go to Page Title and click on disable.

Another way, is to disable the page title area for all pages at once, simply go to Customizer -> Pages -> Page Title and turn it off.
But please note, this option will deactivate the page title for all pages not only for BB Press pages.

Let me know if this helps you.

bbpress does’t have a pagefor forum topics that has to be published, with a shortcode in it, to make the edits. Turning off Page Title globally doesn’t work. But as I suspected bbpress uses the articles template for both forum topics and forum sections/categories. Turning it off globally in Single Posts does the trick but then I’m loosing, sort of, one of the main features of Blocksy.

Also, another issue, on the parent forum page( mysite.com/forums) I get as a header

    Nothing Found
    bbPress Forums

I’m puzzled though, I’ve checked with few other themes and didn’t noticed that kind of issues but then, they weren’t Blocksy. Blocksy is so nice…

Hey @ckubs, I installed BB Press on my end and I see the problem now.
Well actually this happens because Blocksy was not built for BB Press and our templates have a slight different logic but I think we could add support for BB Press.
If everything goes well we will add the integration in the next update.

    Cheers.

Thank you a lot. Would be a great update as other popular BBpress like plugins are working on same logic. It won’t be for BB Press only.
