I’m having a major problem with my Blog page. I get a “404 error page not available” and on the bottom just off the page where it shows the hover over link address it reads “hernandostar.com/blog_trashed/”. You can read the blogs on this 404 page which have “Read More” links on it for the full post. I think I may have set this up wrong because each post seems to have it’s own URL after you click on the “Read More” link. Not only that, but the “Front Page” has a choice for “Blog” in the drop down menu in the Page Attributes section in WordPress, but when I go to the “Blog” page and try to choose a Page Attribute for it as “Blog” it is not there, there is a choice for “Front Page”. They seem to be reversed.I deleted my first “Blog” page in hopes that it would solve the problem, but it did not. I have a managed WordPress account, no CPanel.

the page you chose for the blog in setings->reading has been moved to the trash.

ok, so how would I get a new blog page to show up, it is in the back end of WordPress and shows up in the menu on the site, I can’t figure out where it is broken.

I think you probably have two pages called blog, one in the published list and one in trash. If so, empty trash and then reset what you have in settings->reading.

I reset it but no change. From the Front Page, if you go to an article and click on “continue reading” it goes to the 404 error page but you can still see the snippets of the posts, then if you click on “Read More” from there you go to the whole post. ????? I don’t get it. I’m missing something. I even tried to change the permalinks set up in the Settings section.

I’m looking at your site (https://hernandostar.com/home-and-garden/) and I have not run into any 404s.

If you go to the home page https://www.hernandostar.com and click on one of the articles “continue to read link” it will take you to a 404 page. But after that if you click on the Blog page in the menu it will take you to all the articles where you can click on read more to go to the full article.

The problem I had was only with the last article and not with all of them and I found out that it was an easy fix. I put an extra word (to) in the URL link pointing to the post page, so I deleted the link and created a fresh one with the correct address and it solved the problem.
