Blog Copier timing out, Error 404

I’ve been using Blog Copier for a pretty large Network. I’m at around 50 sites now.
Lately when I’ve copied sites, it’s been taking longer and longer, until now it takes so long that it actually times out and takes me to a 404 page.
Any ideas what may be causing this? Is my server just way too slow to handle this?
