• Last night after posting I got a…

403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request

I contacted my host, who says I probably need to upgrade my index.php file via FTP. I think I can do this, but I want to make sure…because my knowledge of how this works is a little limited…that this won’t rewrite my whole blog or anything like that.

Also, where can I get an upgraded index.php file? I’ve seen similar problems listed here before, but I just want to be extra careful. I do know my version of wordpress is a little old. Might be 2.1.

    thanks for your help!

If I just download the 2.6.3 file and rewrite the index.php will I be ok?

Can someone please answer my simple yes or no question? I’ve looked through other posts and I’m not finding my answer.

    thank you…

Sounds to me like all they are suggesting is that you “reload” your index.php file. FTP is just the method of file transfer and shouldn’t change anything. You can upgrade but follow the instructions or you will loose some stuff.

Thanks MikeLikie. I just went ahead and reloaded the index.php file. Now I’m contacting my host…as per their recommendation, I guess to restart the blog if everything is ok.
