Blog excerpt page missing background color

  • the blog “home” /”index” page (showing only the excerpts) is missing its content area background color and for the life of me (FTLOM?) I can not get a side bar to show up on the page?

    Mataam (child) theme being used. All other pages/posts are fine.

    I have disabled all plugins without any affect…
