Blog format is a mess

Hey guys, I’m wondering how I can format my blog. Currently, the blog is posting at the BOTTOM of the page. I have sidebars, and it seems they are preventing the posts from showing in the middle of the page. This isn’t the case with anything on my site, besides the blog posts.

I also don’t want the junk on the right side (the right sidebar). I DO want a sidebar, just not with those things in it. I know I can go into my template and go to sidebar2 but what I’m not sure how to do, is to delete just those items and then make it possible to put graphic links as the default in that right sidebar. I do want to keep the second sidebar, I just want different content in it. So I don’t want to delete the sidebar 2 code from showing.

Another question. On the front page, I have made it so that the 2 most recent posts show up. What I’d rather, is to have the first most recent post from each of two different categories show up. Any code I can add for that?

Most importantly, I need help with the blog format. I think I may be able to figure out the other things through some experimenting. I’ve just worked on the blog a lot with no success.
