Once I discovered that my site was hacked, I immediately asked my local host to recover the content, only to find out they haven’t kept any backup! They said their last available backup was from Sep 2016 so I asked them to use that anyway, and they told me the restoration had failed and they weren’t able to use that back up! At this point I was boiling and any old backup would be better than none…they are still checking but worse case I would have lost 6 years of blog posts….
I’m just a regular fashion blogger and not a techie so I’m not sure what I can do in this case. If I were to start a new blog, since I don’t blog as much as I used to I’m thinking of starting a new blog hosted by WordPress and just using my existing domain name. The main point is to keep my blog going and most importantly my email addresses which I’m still actively using.
Any thoughts and comments would be appreciated!

This is possible if you use WordPress.com service.
https://wordpress.com/pricing/
I suggest you to create a free website to try out before deciding whether to upgrade.
I think it’s much easier and definitely secure if you use WordPress.com to blog.
Thank you
]]>You said that have a backup from Sep 2016 . is it database right ? What is the issue they facing while restoration. Also did you check that the database is safe ? Please check it via cpanel/phpmyadmin.
