Blog has been hacked – can’t login in to dashoboard

  • Hello! I need some help please. It appears my blog, https://www.cupcakeshow.com has been hacked. There are weird links appearing on the top part of y blog and I can’t login to my dashboard. I notice this today when I went to approve some comments. I have my comments held for approval, to help cut down on spam.

    Does anyone know how and why this happened? And how I can login? And Remove the weird links?

    I would really appreciate any help. I have been a wordpress user for 3 years, and this is the first problem I’ve ever had.

    I’m really nervous about this though, because I have prospective employers checking out my website this week and next week.

    How? –> <meta name="generator" content="WordPress 1.5" />
    Why? –> Because you allowed it by using a version of WP that hasn’t been used/maintained since the dinosaurs roamed about.

    I have been a wordpress user for 3 years, and this is the first problem I’ve ever had.

    Maybe now you’ll take the security of your site a little more seriously. Not one single upgrade in 3 years?! It’s amazing you lasted this long.

    Search this forum for the termed “hacked”. You’ll come up with plenty of threads and suggestions.
