Have been not paying attention to my travel blog and haven’t added anything in a few months – went to look and polish up some of the posts and got the following message:

Warning: require_once(/home10/sobida/public_html/wp-load.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home10/sobida/public_html/wp-blog-header.php on line 13

Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/home10/sobida/public_html/wp-load.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/alt/php55/usr/share/pear:/opt/alt/php55/usr/share/php’) in /home10/sobida/public_html/wp-blog-header.php on line 13

I have not changed/loaded/played with any settings so I suppose it could be a server issue – hosted at crazy domains. I sent them a message and they recommend I check my plug-in….

I don’t want to play around without direction in case I lose all the posts – no back-up because I’m a twit. I have access to all the files from my hosting account but not sure what I should look for….

  • If you can access your files via the hosting account, you can backup the files and the database. Via ftp or the file manager, you can disable the plugins by renaming the plugins file under wp-content/plugins – I usually rename plugins by putting a period in front of the name so it’s .plugins If you can then access the site without the errors, you know that one of the issues is a plugin. You can then rename .plugins back to plugins and do the same thing with each plugin directory. For example, if you have a plugin folder called ewww-image-optimizer rename it .ewww-image-optimizer You go through the renaming process one by one until you determine which plugin is causing the issue.

Hi – and thank you for the quick response kwbridge. Ran a full back up of all my files and then renamed the plugins folder to .plugins as suggested – no joy there! I will have a play once all my files are backed up and see what i can do

I still be the same response when I log into my site.

I used Blogpad pro to upload all my posts and looking a teach of my posts is still possible from this program. All the file structure s still there but I can’t view the site at all – very frustrating

    Hi all

I followed the warnings(require once ) and uploaded each file it asked for – there was mobs of files missing from the WP-INCLUDES folder which seemed to be the main culprit.

Now I’ve at least got the site back but still haven’t been able to log onto the WP admin. I’m now sure it will happen so I’ll mark this closed. Very weird…..
