    Hi,

Something’s happened to the formaatting on the front page of our blog and I don’t understand what has happened.

As far as I know, no-one has made any changes to the blog – the Editor hasn’t been touched, no plugins have been added etc but just randomly the homepage has changed so that the main “post” area has widened and the entire sidebar has now moved to underneath the content area so that it’s no longer a sidebar but just a messy column at the bottom of the page.

    See: https://padiproseurope.com for the issue

However the post pages themselves are appearing correctly, and the language versions of the blog (for example https://padiproseurope.com/de) are also still showing fine.

Can anyone help me to troubleshoot what’s caused the sidebar to move like this and how I can fix it?

Unfortunately there is no child theme in place, by the way, because it was not set up that way (I’m in the process of redesigning the blog under another domain which WILL have a child theme!!!).

    Thank you in advance,
    Danielle

I’m guessing one of the images in the posts is too wide and it’s forcing the main content area to be so wide it doesn’t leave room for the sidebar. It looks to me like the Feb. 13 post might be the culprit. Try reducing the size of that image (or just change the post to a draft ) and see if that fixes your issue.

    Hi Matt

Thanks for your reply. I already tried that – thought the same as you, that the image was pushing it across but I’ve tried even deleting the image entirely and no luck.

    Thanks

    Hi Matt

OK I just thought I’d go through and try to remove ALL of the posts up to a certain point even though they were ‘normal’ looking.

Well, the weird thing is that making them all draft fixed the problem, but then when I went back re-publishing them to find the culprit, they ALL work again. So all I did was change the last 10 posts into draft and then back to published and now it works again.

It’s as though somewhere along the line, WP didn’t publish one of the posts correctly even though the post itself was fine.

Bizarre! But, it’s fixed for now ?? Thanks for your help.
