    Hi,

I am using a child theme for the Twenty Ten theme and I have just updated it for my blog, BetterdecoratingBible.com. I am using the latest version of wordpress and all of my plugins are updated.

My host, hostgator keeps putting a cached version on my site online and threatening to take down my site because of high spikes in CPU. I have no idea what the problem is and they keep pointing it towards my theme.

These are the results they have given me for high CPU, as you can see the theme is causing 20.63%. Does anyone have any idea why Twenty Ten would be causing such high CPU?

Those reports can’t be helpful all the time, I take it as you are on a cheap plan and your site is getting good traffic.. Try reducing the usage of server memory, try to loose some plugins that you don’t need especially the stats plugins which run cron jobs which would probably cause this.. Also, if you have forms that are accessible to non-logged in users (contact forms, bbpress anonymous posting..) try to add captcha or spam check tool..

If you don’t want to do all of this, then, I highly recommend the use of CloudFlare as other contributors recommended it to me and it was quite helpful..
