Blog List thumbnail not square

I’m using your plugin on a site under construction and I was expecting the thumbnail in the blog list widget to be square – like the default WordPress thumbnail. It is not (see this link for how it looks: https://new.cleanwateralliance.net). How do I make it use the default WordPress thumbnail and crop to square?
