Hello, I have my own hosted WP blog https://www.99celcius.com which I setup in June last year without any hassle and have been posting frequently to it.

I opened up my blog yesterday Fri, 10 Jan 06 and displays the following message:

“It doesn’t look like you’ve installed WP yet. Try running install.php.”

Ok, this is not possible and makes no sense to me. The last time I checked my blog was on Mon, 6 Jan 06 and was working perfect. I did not log-in to it.

Since than I have not tweaked any file on wwwroot or the DB connection. In fact I wanted to create a new post and found out this yesterday.

I have contacted my host and they have not according them done any thing and will look into it.

What could have wrong on its own? How do I fix it. And how can I get all my posts back. I don’t have a back up of my posts ??

Loging-in through FTP to my site shows all the WP files there, so I can’t figure it out.

If YOU did nothing – they did.

    What’s in the database ?

I had the same problem after doing an upgrade. I followed these steps and voila!

podz u r spot on. My host vilords.net screwed up my MySQL database.

When I login to MyPHPAdmin to my DB, the 9 WP tables exist but whenever I click any of the WP tables the following msg gets displayed:

    Can’t find file: ‘wp_posts.MYI’ (errno: 2)

    Error

    SQL-query:

    SHOW KEYS FROM wp_posts ;

    MySQL said:

    #1017 – Can’t find file: ‘wp_posts.MYI’ (errno: 2)

I contacted my host with this information and this is their reply:

    “Dear Customer,

You are using Innodb and we was removed Innodb support to prevent abuse on server.

Please use MyISAM for your application.

    Sorry for inconvenience you faced.

If you need any further assistance please feel free to contact us any time..

    Kind Regards,
    Support,
    Vilords Technologies.”

Tell me what to do ??

    “Can’t find file: ‘wp_posts.MYI’ (errno: 2)”

    That is a hosting error.

“You are using Innodb and we was removed Innodb support to prevent abuse on server.”

    That is stupid.

If they did not backup your database before they removed it, scream at them. A responsible host would have told you what they were doing FIRST and got a backup to you FIRST.
Send them an email asking if they did get a backup for you.
If they did, we can help you sort it.
If they did not, leave them today. Just quit – they are beyond useless if that is the case.

Well thanks podz, it definitely was the DB problem, no backup. I just deleted my old DB and re-setup my blog, and its up again. Thanks.

can someone change this to problem solved then?
