Our site has been up and running trouble free for a couple years. Today one of our customers emailed to say that the blog link was broken.

    https://www.greatexpectationsbc.com

We use a static page for the front page, and the link “Rebecca’s blog” (https://www.greatexpectationsbc.com/blog) has always taken the user directly to the most recent link in her blog. Now it says “Page not found.” I can access all of the posts within the admin panel so I know all of that data is still available…just not sure why out of the blue it’s stopped working.

I’ve tried disabling plugins, resetting the permalink setting to default, and then back to custom, and also uploaded a .htacess file since I couldn’t find one and that was something various websites suggested.

    Help?

  • Your website opening fine may be there was a server problem.

The website itself opens fine, but I’m still getting a page not found error when I try to access our blog page (the second link above), also called “Rebecca’s Blog” if you try to access it from the menu on the right side of our site. Its the only part that doesn’t seem to be working, and I can’t think of anything we’ve done recently that would make it disappear like this.

Also, I’ve found that if, under Reading Settings, I change from using a static front page to “Latest Posts” it does indeed show the latest posts. Using the link “www.greatexpecationsbc.com/blog” has always worked to link to the most recent posts…can anyone suggest a different way to link this?

Problem solved. I added a blank page named “Blog” and then changed my reading settings to show the posts page as “blog”. I did not have this before and it had worked great, but this seems to have resolved things.
