I have designed a website for a client and they are having an issue uploading images to the blog post (feature image) and saving blog posts.

I can upload the image and blog no problem on my end so I am not sure why they are getting the error.

When they try to save the blog post the error is: “Updating failed. The response is not a valid JSON response”

When they try to upload a feature image the error is: “Post processing of the image failed likely because the server is busy or does not have enough resources. Uploading a smaller image may help. Suggested maximum size is 2500 px.”

I’ve switched to the classic editor and made sure their role is set to administrator and it didn’t change the issues. The image is 940 x 788 px wide.

I hope someone can help direct me to a solution as my client is getting frustrated it’s taking up so much of their time to post a blog.

    Thanks in advance!

Well, you said in the topic ‘Blog not working for Client’ so the first question I probably should ask is… Can the client see the site, navigate the site, see the posts, login, and get the admin dashboard?

Just to make sure we’ve covered all the client’s possible useability issues!

I see one plugin… WP-Rocket… Did you try disabling WP-Rocket and trying again under their login from your location? And then their location?

My next suggestion would be all plugins disabled and a generic theme like my favorite for troubleshooting or general builds… Twenty Seventeen.

I’d then dig into the uncommon location and user items… starting with the user role looking for differences between your capabilities and theirs… that’s even if they are admin as well as you because plugins (and fat fingers) can hose up the user roles.

You’ll then want to ask hard questions like differences with their ISP and yours, differences with your PC or access device, firewall issues back at the server, etc.

    I would :
    – dump wp-rocket
    – make sure wp core and plugins are up to date
    – make sure your php is up to date
    – install this helper plugin : https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/enable-jquery-migrate-helper/
    – re-save my permalinks

    If that doesn’t work :
    – disable all plugins, test, add back one-by-one
    – revert to twentytwenty theme, test

Zoom and request control of his machine if you want to see this in action on the client end.

Thank you for your replies, I am looking into all these options.

My client can see the whole site, and she logged into my login as well and is having the same issues, so I am thinking it may be her computer.

She is going to update her computer and get back to me on the status.
