Blog notification email resent five years later

Kia ora,
We have recently moved our blog (https://blog.tepapa.govt.nz) from being hosted on WordPress to being self-hosted.
Our subscriber list has also been moved.
Our subscribers received an email yesterday (24.07.13) alerting them to a “new post”. This post was from April 30, 2008.
Please could you advise what the problem is and whether this will happen again.
