    I’m a newbie and trying to get a blog up and running.
    I had a problem today and it was as follows;
    when I was working on my blog I noticed that when I previewed the blog there is both an admin and log out link on the page. The admin link allowed me to go to my dashboard.
    I was working on it today and suddenly Posts started appearing until I shut down.
    When I logged in again there were 26 posts that were not there originally.
    How can I stop this happening again? Is there any way of disabling the blog when I am working on it? Can anybody help please? Thanks tantec

  • The admin, edit and log out links next to posts/pages should only appear when you’re logged in to WordPress. When you log out and view the site, have these links disappeared?

    Might be worth changing your account password, or creating a new account and deleting your old one (making sure you attribute all the posts and links to your new account) if someone else has got hold of your account details.

    Hi darrenbond.
    Thanks for your quick reply.
    I wasn’t hacked because someone knows my password etc. It was when I was actually working on the site that the posts started to appear. The links do dissapear when I logout but are there for anybody to click when I am working on the site.

    no – the links are only visible to logged in admins
    no one else sees the links

    Hi Samuel B,
    OK but how did the posts get loaded? It is very worrying when someting like this happens and there does not seem to be an explanation.

    I have just had a thought. I changed my theme and then the posts started to appear could this have anything to do with it?
