Blog page not displaying full post

  • I use Virtue for the blog section on my site, after updating the theme today it stopped displaying the entire post. I had it set to display the most recent post in full, and have it set to display text because I was using a multiple photo layout rather than a single image or a carousel. So now when you go to the page you see two lines and then a continue link. I can’t for the life of me get it to display the full post when you land on the page. I also have a private post the I created for a client and that page doesn’t even provide a link to see the whole post.

    I have tried disabling my plug-ins, but nothing works. :/

    Hey,
    In your blog archive edit page under post list options, what do you have the post summary set to?

    It’s set to full. That’s why I was so confused, really kept checking all the settings and have not figured it out.

    Have you set a page as your posts page from Settings > Reading. That setting needs to be left blank or it will override the theme blog template.

    Hmmm, I don’t see anything on the Settings>Reading page. This is what I have:

    Reading Settings

    Blog pages show at most [1] posts
    Syndication feeds show the most recent [10] items
    For each article in a feed, show [x] Full text

    Search Engine Visibility [ ] Discourage search engines from indexing this site.
    It is up to search engines to honor this request.

    That’s odd. sounds like you’re missing some settings. It should look like this:

    Hmmmm, yup, it is. Everything has been updated and is current. It was that last update on the theme that seems to have thrown something out of wack. :/

    I just tested this on my Virtue site and had no issue. You’re not adding a “Read More” link to your posts, are you? Could you send me a screenshot of your post edit page?

    Hi Cyndi,

    i was having the same issue, the virtue theme was no longer displaying lastest post full page after the update.

    The only thing i can suggest until the next update, which will hopefully fix the issue, is to set your front page to a static page (Under Settings>reading>front page. choose any or create a new one, in your case maybe “blog”), then on that page copy and add all of the content that you want to display as the full page.

    This will display the full page of whatever static page you create. a temporary fix until the theme is updated again, and hopefully everything will work like it did before the last update.
