• I set up my new website for my photography. I installed the theme Photography for WordPress by ThemeGoods. Rest of the pages seem to come out the way I want them. But the blog page I set up doesn’t seem to be right. I can’t seem to edit it. Can’t change anything on the page. I want to remove the big image layout of the blog page. It’s like I have no access to it. Can anyone help me?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello,

We have checked it on your site.

It seems that you installed another wordpress on https://annaziskphotography.com/blog/ and theme twenty seventeen is activated on it. That’s why you are not able to control it.

    Please check this.

    Thanks & Regards,

That page looks like the Twenty Seventeen theme to me which makes me wonder how you did that and I’m wondering if you did something like possibly having a separate WordPress running your blog.

The home page suggests you have the rest of the site running fine with your theme except the portfolio page seems to be the blog archives page.

I have no clue how you arrived at this… I do suspect you have two installs running somehow. You don’t need to do that and it makes the site more complicated.

Instead, why don’t you create a page for your blog in your main install (with your prefered theme) By going to Dashboard –> Pages –> Add New

You’ll then need to go to Dashboard –> Settings –> Reading And click Static Page then select ‘blog page shows’ and select your new blog page you just created from the drop-down.

You’ll also need to create a home page and name it.

Once you’re done you can go into Dashboard –> Appearance –> Menu and fix your menu pages.

There’s some good documentation on all this stuff in the WordPress Codex and another fine site for more info is WP Beginner

    How can I fix this?

annaziskphotography.com/blog isn’t a separate site. How did it get a different theme? Should I deactivate the theme and delete and reinstall?

    Hello,

No need to do this, just go to your site and add a new page name as per your comfort. Then go to settings=> reading and assign that newly created page as a Posts page.

And by mistake another wordpress is install in your https://annaziskphotography.com/blog/ this url, you can check by https://annaziskphotography.com/blog/wp-admin you will got a login pannel.

    Thanks,

Hostgator says I have to login seprately to my blog. Is this true? I thought I could edit my blog right from annaziskphotography.com. but it wont let me.

It could be a separate install and it might be some kind of server end weirdness like a cache that didn’t flush.

Just try finding your way through what I said above at least for the blog page to fix that one issue. If you can’t get that to work theme call your host or the theme creator to find a solution.

I’m thinking, you should ask your host next if this info doesn’t help you. They can see the big picture there with all the details.

Hostgator says I have to login seperately. So i have a login now. But is this how I will do it for now on? Login separetely? No way to make it work under annaziskphotography.com? I set up the static page and blog page under reading but still goes to the separate sit.

What Hostgator is telling you sounds like you have two WordPress installs running.

You’ll be able to do as I said in my original answer and most likely fix your problem… I’ll leave it up to you to figure out how to rid yourself of the second install if that’s what has been done there.

I’ll have to figure out how to only have one install. Hostgator says there is no way to have it under one. But, just doesn’t make sense to me.

    Hey,

Just connect your FTP or cpannel and delete the another wordpress that has been installed by mistake.

You can take the back-up for before deleting of the wordpress and after deleting make an another page blog for your site.

Please make sure you delete the the second wordpress which installed on https://annaziskphotography.com/blog url.
