• I’m trying to set my blog page so it only shows summaries of posts. When I check that option in the “settings,” the page still displays the whole story. I’d like to set it so the page shows only the first 1 or 2 paragraphs, and then a reader would have to subscribe and get a password to see the whole post. Anyone know how to do that?

  • Did you clear your cache?

Just tried that – clearing the cache in my browser – and it didn’t change anything. Now I’m noticing on the “settings” page that the option I’m looking at says, “For each article in a feed, show …”

Not sure what they mean by a feed. maybe if someone is subscribing to the page as an RSS feed, that’s what they’d get. Maybe the feature I’m looking for here doesn’t exist in WordPress. I’d just like the page to display a teaser of the post, but then only full (paying) subscribers would get access to the full story.

    Thanks for the suggestion, though.

That option is for feeds only. Did you try using a plugin such as hidepost?
