I am using the Genesis Author Pro plugin to generate a library books page. The book list page has been showing entries for 18 titles, as specified in the Settings > Reading > “Blog pages show at most”.

However, in using this plugin, it would seem there’s apparently something that is causing that page to now only show 10 titles. (I’ve gone through and disabled and then re-enabled plugins, and it’s when this one is turned back on that the problem reoccurs.) When I change the setting down to a number below 10, I see it is properly adjusting it, but when it’s anything more than 10, 10 is where it tops out.

Is there a setting within the TSF plugin that’s causing this or ….?

    Hi @virtualwayva,

Are you using the “Book SEO Settings -> Visibility -> Archive Settings” options?
If any of those are active on any book, they may alter the query.

At the “SEO Settings page -> General Settings -> Performance” tab you have the option to run the archive query alteration in the database.
When it’s not run in the database (but “on the site” instead), it can affect the number of posts displayed in the archive at any given time; regardless of your settings.

In any case, I performed a “clean install” test with the Genesis Author Pro plugin, on a Genesis theme, and I couldn’t reproduce your issue directly. So, the above is a guess.
Another place I’d look is the “Blog Page Template” settings of the Genesis theme. But I’m not sure if this can be correlated, yet.

I hope this helps! If I’m incorrect about this, let me know and I’ll keep digging.

Thanks, Sybre, for getting back to me on this. I’m now realizing what the issue is.

This site is a new one, and I’m actually digesting my reference books using the author plugin. I had originally added all the titles, authors, etc., and then last week realized I needed to keep the book titles from showing up in the site index, so went back through and turned the visibility off, including the archive visibility. However, I had neglected to turn the archive visibility off …. on 10 of the titles.

A few days ago, when troubleshooting something else, I inadvertently reverted to the Twenty Seventeen theme on the live site instead of the staging site. When I flipped it back and then checked the site pages, it was then I noticed this issue. (I hadn’t looked at this particular page the two days prior — between turning off most of the books’ archive visibility.) The fact that I was now seeing no more than 10 book titles led me to falsely conclude it was something to do with the general reading setting.

As this particular plugin uses the archive template to generate the list of books, I of course now need to go back through and deselect the box to “Exclude this Book from all archive listings.” I’ve reset enough of them to confirm all is (or will be) as it should.

I’ve looked but not found a way to edit those settings en masse. Is there one and I’ve simply overlooked it? My reference library is rather extensive, so the task is proving a bit tedious.

Thanks again for the follow-up and assistance, and my apologies for the disconnect at my end.

    Hi @virtualwayva,

I’m glad you’ve been able to find the culprit.

We’ve yet to include a quick-and bulk edit tool into the plugin.
It’s planned, and I’ve set the inclusion version to 3.2.0.

Until then, I’m afraid you’d have to go by each book settings one-by-one. I understand it’s a chore, and you’re not alone in requesting this.
In this software, we’re just getting to the point where we can focus on the details, of among which this feature is.

There’s no need to apologize! Have a wonderful day ??
